Round House

Colorado Springs, CO

The Round House has been Emily Summers’s summer retreat since 2005, when she discovered the vintage 1968 treasure, neglected and for sale. The house consists of three concentric circles suspended on the side of Cheyenne Mountain, with 360- degree views overlooking the Broadmoor Resort and the twinkling lights of Colorado Springs. Retaining the organic architecture and gorgeous walnut paneling of Don Price’s original design, Emily Summers Design Associates raised ceilings, updated bathrooms, added gardens and expanded the decks to double the living space. In the summer months, watching the sunset from above the pine treetops in the cool Colorado air is the place to be for the Summers family.
